Revisando mis correos me encontre con este lindo correo de a_friend@spymac.com y pues me quede pensando.
A ver que opinan
This is a mass mailing that was sent to 10,000 Spymac members. How, the hell, did I get those addresses? Very simple. Played around the other day with Spymac and suddenly… I couldn’t believe my eyes:
A list with thousands of member names right there in front of me!
Copy, add “@spymac.com” to every user name with a simple Find and Replace and – viola! I end up with a huge database of valid Spymac member emails. Many, MANY more than just 10,000, but I didn’t wanna get in trouble with the ISP for sending too much spam, so I picked 10,000 at random for this mailing. What should I do with all these addresses now?
Write a script to pull up every member’s public profile and complete my database with things like birthdate, home location, marriage status etc.?
Send you “irresistible” advertisements until the end of times?
Or how about some get-rich-quick schemes?
Pr0n?
A phishing scam like “Spymac is upgrading its systems. Please re-submit your password here: [ ]” ?
Or sell everything to some real spammers? (There are over 600,000 Spymac members, this could potentially be a nice chunk of dough!)… or simply ask Spymac to GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER and FIX EXISTING PROBLEMS like this gaping security hole before they introduce ever new functions?? I should never have been able to get my hands on this!
Tell them what you think about seeing your email exposed. Curse and berate me if you want. Start a thread in Forums – Spymac HQ – Site Support!
¿Qué opinan? ¿Qué se hace en estos casos?
Y yo que estaba empesando a usar este servicio.
